Mary Louise was born in 1978 and grew up in Orange County, CA. She graduated from the Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach, CA in 2004 with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration.
She currently resides in Seattle, WA with her boyfriend, a six-toed thumb cat and a Bugg puppy.
Her art is largely inspired by the Golden Age Illustrators of the early 1900's. Mary's work whimsically depicts her love and fear of Nature. She believes that nature is beautiful, sometimes cute and magical but always unpredictable. In a fight nature always wins. The anticipation of what is “unknown” is also a theme she likes to explore. Typically, the “unknown” is much more fascinating than the reality of a given situation. When something is unknown the imagination is peaked and one can come up with any number of fanciful explanations. She shows her Art nationally and has sold internationally. Mary Louise is currently offering private Art Lessons for Junior High and High School age Children.
